Data Centers pay their fair share of local revenue.

It’s up to each community to determine that agreement.

It would be easy to think that data centers get away with not paying their share.

But that would be wrong
here in Ohio.

In 2024, Ohio data centers contributed around $1.1 billion in state and local taxes.

That’s enough to cover the cost of running every airport and public library in Ohio — in full.

Ohio communities are already collecting from data centers to help power real schools and real development.

In 2024, the local school districts in the New Albany cluster alone received …

$2.67 Million in
Licking Heights

$2.50 Million in Johnstown-Monroe

$1.93 Million in New Albany-Plain Local

Not to mention the $10 million generated in New Albany for the city itself.

Those figures understate the real total, since most data centers in the New Albany district carry TIF agreements.

Across 1,115 acres, school tax revenue is projected to rise from $2,483,641 to $27,388,924 per year, once building abatements expire.

See the impact data centers are having across other Ohio communities when done right:

Marysville (AWS)

  • Nearly $800,000 per year to local schools
  • $1M in annual local revenue
  • Paid more in property taxes than Nestlé and Kroger in 2025

Perry Township (Amazon)

  • #1 taxpayer in Stark County once complete
  • 670 construction jobs, 100+ of them Perry Township residents
  • 6 indirect local jobs supported per data center job

Millersport (Vantage)

  • $2.1B+ investment on 352 acres
  • 2,500+ skilled construction jobs, union-first
  • 50+ operational roles
